Keep Wrinkles Away With These 3 Simple Diet Tips

When it comes to diet, there are many suggestions about what dietary items you need to keep your skin healthy and wrinkle free. However, what is the one simple diet tip that is most important to keeping wrinkles away.

Are you ready? Can you guess? It’s really so simple that usually it’s missed. How about a few clues? It is cheap, it’s not difficult to find, it has no flavor, and it packs a powerful punch. Did you guess water? If you did, you are absolutely right.

Water

Why water? There are a couple of reasons. Water removes toxins from the body, which reduces the signs of aging, and water also hydrates the skin so that wrinkles are kept at bay or at least hardly noticeable. It’s the number one diet tip to keep those wrinkles away. However, there are a few other very important tips.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that has well known properties for keeping the skin healthy, but did you know just how important it is to get your Vitamin C from food rather than supplements?

Getting the vitamin C needed to keep the wrinkles away is as simple as eating an orange a day. According to a recent study that examined how food impacted the way our skin aged compared to supplements, it found that those individuals that ate plenty of foods with a high Vitamin C had more benefits than those that depended on vitamin supplements for their Vitamin C. What does that mean for you? It means you should eat foods that are high in Vitamin C.

Omega 6

The study which discovered the benefits of Vitamin C on the skin also found that those that ate diets that were high in Omega 6 fatty acid and linoleic acid also had less dry skin, less thinning of the skin, less wrinkles, and overall less aging of the skin. These oils can be found in safflower oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil, eggs, and many different types of nuts.

Refined carbohydrates

Refined or high GI carbohydrates are not good for the skin. In fact, those that eat a diet high in carbohydrates could find themselves with more wrinkles. Sugar causes oxidation and damage to your skin proteins including collagen, and so will have you wrinkled and looking much older than your age.

So there you go. Common sense would say that eating a diet that’s healthy and packed with good nutrients and antioxidants certainly would have to play some role in reducing wrinkles and the signs of aging.

But at least the secret is out about one simple diet item that you can put into practice all day long – water. You will have no problem finding it and if you are worried about drinking tap water either purchase a filtration system or opt for bottled water. However you do it, what’s important is to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and healthy, and you’ll be rewarded with wrinkles that are kept at bay!
