Are You Stressed Out by Working With Your Aggressive Dog? Here’s 3 Tips to Get Rid of Bad Behavior

Do you have an aggressive dog? Maybe you just got a new dog, or perhaps you’ve never trained your dog properly. And now he’s aggressive, and you can’t control him. Does this sound familiar?

This is a problem many pet owners have with their dogs. Aggressive behavior is rampant, especially in bigger dogs like Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, and Huskies. There are several different ways to take care of an aggressive dog and turn him into a loveable, docile pet. Here are just a few of the ways I used to train my dog to be much less aggressive.

1. Dog training collar: Often called a “shock collar” or an “electric collar,” dog training collars really do work. However, if your dog has a lot of fur, it’s likely that you will need to shave or trim some of the fur on his neck for the prongs to make contact with his skin. Otherwise, you’re wasting your money, and your dog will never feel the zap.

2. Pronged collar: You’ve probably seen the pronged collar on dogs in movies, especially attack dogs. That’s because they are great for hard-to-control dogs. However, instead of leaving it on your dog all the time, use it just for training purposes. It will teach your aggressive dog who is master without hurting him too much. Even though the prongs have a tendency to dig, it is still an effective tool.

3. Dog training classes: The most effective way to get rid of an aggressive dog behavior is to train him. But you don’t have to spend a bundle on dog training classes at your local community center; for less than $50, you can purchase access to online videos, audio CD’s, and books that will help you train your aggressive dog without hurting him or yourself.
