If you have acne, then you have probably been tempted to try using a homemade acne remedy. But where should you start? Which ones work best? In this article, I’m going to give you a short list of some of the best homemade acne remedies you can make from your own home. Many of these remedies can be more effective then the topical treatments you are used to.
#1 Lemon Juice
This is by far the most popular home remedy for acne. It’s easy to do and its rather cheap. Take some lemon juice and rub it on your face with a cotton ball. Try to use only fresh lemons. A good alternative to lemons is to use limes. One thing you have to be careful with is the sun. It can be much easier to burn if you use it. Make certain that you are applying sun screen to the area if you will be spending time outside.
This works well for some people and against others. So be careful if your going to use this one. White toothpaste can help kill bacterias. This is why is works really well for certain people. Unfortunately, some people will try it and see their pimple get worse. Some of the ingredients in toothpaste could cause your pimple to turn more red or to irritate the skin. Still, it does work great for some people.
#3 Baking Soda
A mask made from baking soda and water can be a very cheap way to get rid of acne. It even makes for a good cleanser. Some like to use it once or twice per week. The reason it works so well is because it will dry up allot of the extra oils on the skin. Just add a small amount of water to some baking soda and make a paste out of it. If your skin feels a little too dry, then add some aloe vera when you are done washing the mask off.
Yes, food plays an important role in acne. In my experience you should reduce the amount of grains you are eating in your diet and vegetable oils. If you consume more raw vegetables, you will also see a big improvement.
