Do You Really Want to Break the Rosacea Cycle?

In looking at a cure it is as much your determination and perseverance to make changes in your life as anything. There is in fact nothing that can make you do anything or even say that making a change will be “it”, but without first trying you will never know. The first I would like to discuss in a series of articles is diet. And I hear you say “but I have tried to diet and it doesn’t cure the rash”. However I am asking you to make the difference and go for one big change and stick with it for the rest of your life. These changes are I mention are a forever change. Are you up for it? I would encourage you to eat as much raw vegetable as possible in the form of salads, sprouts and vegetable juices from if possible organic vegetables. You should make your own juices from fruit and vegetables with a juicer that has a slow crushing action. This will provide you with all the enzymes you need for good digestion and therefore letting your body absorb the nutrients it needs for a healthy immune system. I am not advocating a wholly raw food diet as this will set many people up for failure.

The purpose of my recommendations is to encourage you to eat foods high in enzymes. Consume at least 2 liters of water a day. Do not eat highly refined foods such as meals prepared with bleached four, preservatives, food colouring and or additives of any kind. No dairy foods from any type of animal and no processed sugars. Meat, chicken and fish (& all seafood) are acceptable in the proportionate amounts that accompany vegetables (lightly steamed), lettuce, spinach, cabbage, zucchinis, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, culinary herbs and salad greens. Sprouts from the seeds of broccoli, alfalfa, lentils, mustard, onion can be store bought or made at home. Many health food shops can help with the necessary equipment you may need for these changes. You will I guarantee feel a huge difference from these changes.

Mind you this isn’t the whole story. And there is a whole rounded approach in my book “Cure Your Rosacea” that will help you, as it did me as I’m now rosacea free, after meticulously following a regime for this past 8months after 10 years of the rash.

Risks of Laser Acne Scar Removal

Laser acne scar removal is one treatment option for shallow scars from acne. It does not work as well on deep scars. In laser surgery for acne scars, a hand-held laser (like a wand) is used to burn off the scarred skin cells. Fresh new skin cells then replace the burned-off ones.

Benefits of Laser Surgery for Acne Scars

The lasers used for laser acne scar removal are very precise, allowing the dermatologist or plastic surgeon to target only the affected skin and leave any healthy, unscarred skin alone. This may be preferable to some other methods commonly used to treat shallow scars, like chemical peels and dermabrasion, because those methods remove the entire top layer of skin, scarred and unscarred.

Laser treatments for scars from acne may also be preferable to treatments like dermabrasion because they are much less painful. Dermabrasion usually causes significant bleeding of the face (or other area treated). While local anesthetic is usually used during the procedure, the treated skin is usually quite tender afterward. Laser treatments are somewhat irritating to the skin and may cause redness or crustiness afterward for a while, but they are far less irritating than dermabrasion or chemical peels.

Laser acne scar removal is pretty effective for shallow scars. However, multiple treatments may be required.

Risks of Laser Surgery for Acne Scars

While laser treatments for acne scars are less irritating to the skin than some other treatments, like dermabrasion and chemical peels, they are still somewhat irritating. Your skin may be red and crusty for a while. It may be sore. You may experience some bruising.

Allergic-type reactions can occur. These are usually easily treated with medicated creams

Infections may also occur. These can be treated with medicated creams and/or with oral antibiotics.

Both hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) and hypopigmentation (lightening of the skin) can occur with laser treatments. To help prevent this, you should avoid direct exposure to sunlight for a couple of weeks after a laser treatment.

The Cost of Laser Surgery for Acne Scars

Laser surgery for acne scars usually costs around $3000 per treatment, although you can certainly shop around for a better price. Make sure you’re choosing a qualified practitioner, though. Don’t sacrifice quality in order to save a few bucks. Remember that multiple treatments are usually required, so the cost can add up quickly. Health insurance policies usually won’t cover laser acne scar removal, since it’s a cosmetic procedure and not medically necessary.

Alternatives to Laser Acne Scar Removal

There are a number of alternatives to laser treatments for the removal of scars from acne. As mentioned earlier, there are chemical peels and dermabrasion. Both of these procedures remove the top layer of skin, revealing fresh, new skin underneath. Multiple treatments are usually required.

For deep scars, a punch technique is usually used. A punch tool, like those used to do skin biopsies, is used to remove the scar. Then the wound is sutured, or a skin graft from elsewhere on the body can be used to fill the hole.

There are a number of over-the-counter products that can help treat scars from acne, some of which are more effective than others. These products are certainly less costly than laser treatments or other medical procedures, and they are usually gentler on the skin, too. It seems reasonable to at least try one of these products before undergoing something like laser treatments. You can talk to a dermatologist if you’d like advice about what products to try first.

Of course, it would be a good idea to talk to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon about all your options for treating scars. He or she can help you decide the best method for you.

Rosacea Laser Treatment Options

Treating the symptoms of Rosacea with lasers has become an effective treatment method. First starting in the 1980’s, today there are two prominent laser treatments that are used very effectively to reduce the redness or the face and the prominence of blood vessels visible on the face. These treatments are known as PDL, which stands for Pulsed Dye Laser, and IPL, Intensed Pulsed Light. Let’s take a look at these two treatment options.

Pulsed Dye Laser treatments have been used for many years now. Studies on PDF treatments have shown it as an effective aid to reduce a variety of rosacea symptoms, after just one or two treatments! Subjects in the study reported a decrease in facial flushing, itch sensations, dry skin, swelling, burning sensations, and the overall sensitivity of the skin on the face. PDL procedures can cause bruises on the face which last up to two weeks. Ironically, it is believed that to induce bruising will, in the long run, mean a more effective treatment of rosacea. Note that not all laser treatments induce bruising, and it is possible to receive PDL treatments not resulting in a bruised appearance.

Intensed Pulsed Light is the latest and greatest treatment to fall under the laser treatment umbrella. It’s actually not technically correct though, as IPL uses a non-laser light source! First approved by the FDA in 1995, IPL has been shown to be very effective in treating a variety of rosacea symptoms. Subjects report that their treatments have resulted in a decrease in papule breakouts, facial flushing and redness, and the prominence of blood vessels on the face. Note that there are temporary side effects of IPL treatment, which ironically mimic a few the symptoms they will ultimately reduce, such as swelling and redness.

Treatments such as Pulsed Dye Laser and Intensed Pulsed Light are not typically covered under most individuals health insurance policies.

The costs are not extreme, but paying for such treatments is not cheap either. You can expect to pay $300-500 (more, sometimes) per treatment session. The amount of treatments needed varies person to person. Good results can be seen with a single or double treatment, but some patients will end up receiving half a dozen or more treatments to see the results desired.

Unfortunately, not all individuals with rosacea are a candidate for laser treatment. There are some conditions which cancel you out, such as having a suntan (which is easy enough to fix!), as well as certain types of diabetes, a tendency to develop blod clots, and also the presence of keloids, which is certain type of scarring on the skin where the skin was damaged and then later healed.

Bull’s Eye Rashes – Lyme Disease and Other Causes

Rashes always grip us with a bit of alerm. With the wide variety of causes, it’s no wonder that individuals seek out knowledge on various skin rashes that they are inflicted with. The bull’s eye rash is no exception. Sometimes referred to as a target, it has various causes and descriptions. Generally all these types of rashes have an outer ring and then center clears to show normal skin color. But what are these rashes and how are they treated?

Erythema annulare centrifugum has also been referred to as figurate erythema, annular erythema, erythema perstans, and erythema gyratum perstans. The rashes are generally pink or red and ring shaped. Although not all rashes in this category will have a distinct round shape. Some may be slightly disfigured. This rash can infect anyone in any age group. It usually starts out as a small raised red blotch that enlarges and then the center clears up and the outer edges for a red crust round ring. In this way it looks like a shooting target on the body. These targets generally appear on the lower body and legs, but can occasionally occur on the arms and trunk. These small targets may enlarge and eventually merge together.

Most often there is no specific reason this rash occurs, although they have occasionally been linked to some diseases. These diseases include infections that are bacterial, viral or fungal such as tuberculosis, Cancer, reoccurring or chronic appendicitis, grave’s disease, or liver disease. On some occasions the target rash has been linked to food like blue cheese or tomatoes, or medications like penicillin. These rashes can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few years. Most rashes will disappear on their own; however some doctors will prescribe corticosteroid cream.

Another type of rash with a circle is Erythema multiforme. This rash is an actual skin disorder due to an allergic reaction to medicines or illnesses. Most often it is associated with the herpes virus but occasional medications like barbiturates and penicillin are to blame. While it can affect the young or the old, it commonly inflicts children and young adults. Symptoms include fever, joint ache, itching, and the rash, starts quickly and spreads plus can occur on the upper body and include the mouth and lips with blisters. Treatment options are geared towards treating the cause of the rash, usually the herpes virus. However antihistamines, cool compresses, and corticosteroid creams can help the rash itself.

The most common target rash is caused by Lyme disease. Lyme disease is caused by being bit by a tick that is carrying the disease. The rash appears about 1-2 weeks after infection and is characterized by a red center surrounded by clear skin with a red out edge in a distinct target shape. The rash itself will disappear within a month, and some people will have no further problems. Occasionally however, Lyme disease can spread to other areas of the body and even affect the heart. The infected individual will be tired, and generally feel ill and have other rashes. Eventually numbness or tingling of the fingers and hands may occur. During this stage Lyme disease is treatable, but if left untreated, Lyme disease can cause arthritis and memory lapses.

Since a bull’s eye rash can be caused by a variety of illnesses, it is important to contact a doctor when the rash appears. Sometimes there may be nothing to worry about; however there is always the potential for a serious underlying condition. It is always easiest to treat an illness in the beginning stages than to wait until it is too late.

Freeze 24-7 Anti-Wrinkle Cream Review

I have two weeks more to get ready to meet my ex-university mates at a reunion dinner. Yes, I am excited and elated at the opportunity to catch up with old friends that I’ve not met in years. However, I am also a little hesitant. I used to be Miss Popular and now I cringe at the thought of what they might say about my current appearance. At this age, my wrinkles and fine lines are so obvious that even my children begin to notice them. I don’t why they started to set in so early. I am still in mid thirties. I admit that my shape has changed a lot since the birth of my three kids. I need a quick solution and I don’t think I want to go through any cosmetic surgery.

One of my cousins suggested that I try Botox. She even recommended her doctor to me. I just can’t keep on thinking that my face would be poked with needles. It took me awhile to prepare myself mentally. When I got to the clinic, I asked the doctor what I needed to do for my wrinkles. He replied that it would take more than 6 injections to reduce the visibility of my fine lines. I thought this was insane. So, I decided not to do it.

Then I called my sister and talked about my wrinkle problem. She mentioned a Freeze 247 anti wrinkle cream and said I should try it. I quickly surfed the Net and find out all I need to know about this product.

I found that the company has done some clinical tests on human. I was happy to know that it wasn’t animal tested. Can you tell I am an animal lover? I wasn’t sure that I should trust them because they claimed that all the subjects enjoyed a success rate of between 50% and 90% in reducing the wrinkles. What struck me is that they all saw these results within 10 minutes of applying Freeze 247 wrinkle cream.

I think I can’t go wrong with this product. So, I visited SkinStore.com and ordered a jar. The product arrived in 4 days. When I dabbed it on my face, the cream quickly absorbed into my skin. In the next ten minutes, I was astonished. My facial wrinkles were lessened. It also softened my crows feet. The laugh lines around my mouth slightly reduced. I’m sure my skin will improve further if I carry on using it.

Freeze 24/7 works for me. I don’t have to worry about needles anymore. The way it relaxes my facial muscles to make the skin surface look smooth, you could say the effects are similar to Botox.

If you are searching for a Botox alternative, this product is worth trying. As we expose ourselves to sunlight and encounter the natural aging process, we can’t run away from developing wrinkles and fine lines. So what a better solution to reduce them fast when you need to attend a social gathering say tonight?

Upon further research, I learned that it utilizes Age-Less technology. This technology’s primary ingredient is GABA or Gamma Aminobutyric Acid. But I don’t know how this compound can reduce wrinkles. I could not find any studies on GABA that show its effectiveness in reducing wrinkles. The only thing I can tell you is that the body produces it to induce sleep and relaxation.

Here is a word of warning. Never use it when you go to disco or any place that use UV lights. How embarrassing it was for me to find out that UV lights made my face glow brightly. So I quickly rinsed it off.

Freeze 247 anti wrinkle cream may use the most advanced cosmetic technology to deal with the effects of aging. However, it would be wonderful if the company would share with the consumers how the product works exactly.

Best Natural Remedies For Cystic Acne

Finding the best remedies for cystic acne is important for people dealing with this type of pimple because of the level of pain that is involved. Cystic zits are pimples that have erupted underneath the top layers of the skin and are in many cases inflamed.

Even though there are numerous treatments that can be found for dealing with this type of acne, pinning down the best natural methods can be hard. I will outline a few techniques that have received lots of great feedback from others.

1) Wash your face on a regular basis :

Try to prevent the oils of your skin from being trapped within the skin pores by washing your face on a regular basis with warm water and soap. Soap is designed to remove the extra oil that can build up and seep into the lower levels of the skin where it does not belong.

2) Remove all of your make-up before settling into bed :

Make-up is a big cause of cystic acne because it can block the skin pores and trap skin oils. Also, moisturizers are oily in general and they can play havoc with the delicate balance of natural oil on the skin.

3) Avoid eating junk food :

If you love to stuff your face with delicious chocolate bars and greasy french fries, please tune down on some of these items. Junk food will not only negatively affect your health, your skin will hate you for it. It has been proven that some people develop troublesome acne because of their poor diet.
